Let’s start with the most obvious returns: the ones you can track directly. Think of: 

  • Direct sales (aka conversions): Often tracked through discount codes or trackable links. This way, you see exactly how many sales an influencer generates. 
  • Leads: Newsletter sign-ups or whitepaper downloads through links shared by the influencer. 
  • Website clicks: Content creators can drive traffic straight to your website via links in their bio, stories, or posts. 

These numbers matter to measure the direct impact of your campaigs, but they don’t tell the whole story.

Not everything is about direct sales. Some of the most valuable returns are harder to measure, but just as important:

  • Engagement: A strong engagement rate (likes, comments & shares) means people aren’t just scrolling past, they’re interacting and remembering your brand. 
  • Content value: The content influencers create can be re-used on your own channels through buy-outs. This saves big on production costs and makes your message stronger.
